Multicultural Harmony Festival

The Multicultural Harmony Day Festival celebrates Coffs Harbour's multicultural diversity.

Sunday 21 March from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm in the beautiful surroundings of Mid North Coast Botanic Gardens.

The event focuses on community harmony and is part of the Harmony Day initiative. Festival goers will be served up a choice of multicultural foods, music, performance and dance. A real family day with a positive vibe and free to the community. Come and enjoy all Coffs Harbour's multicultural community has to offer.

The day commences with a Citizenship ceremony followed by an array of multicultural activities. Entry is free.

Wetlands Art and Photographic Exhibition

The winning entries in the 2010 WetlandCare Australia National Art and Photography Competition are currently on exhibition at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, in Dorrigo National Park.
The theme of this exhibition is Wetlands, Biodiversity and Climate Change and features 37 of the top entries including the winners of the open photography, open art and junior categories.
The variety of mediums, techniques, subject matter and imagery in the winning works show the diversity of the entrants in the competition; children, adults and teenagers, expressing their concern about the future of our wetlands with their unique art and photography.

Situated on the scenic Waterfall Way between Coffs Harbour and Armidale, the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre has the Skywalk, Rainforest Shop, Canopy Caf? and the exhibition space close to rainforest bushwalks and waterfalls, and makes an ideal weekend destination.
The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre is open 9am to 4:30 pm seven days a week.
Entry to the centre and the exhibition is free.

Big Banana Beach Party

The Beach Party includes live broadcast by CHYFM, competitions and prizes for limbo, best dressed, banana eating and heaps more.

The water slides are open for the entire party.

The party runs from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.Tickets $12 by phone or at the Big Banana ticket office.

Bellingen Autumn Plant Fair

Open 8 am - 2 pm on Saturday 13 March, the Bellingen Autumn Plant Fair at the Market Park in Bellingen has 50 nursery stalls with an extensive variety of tropical and sub-tropical, native, exotic or food-bearing, trees, shrubs, herbs and vegetable seedlings. Native Plant Identification walks, information stalls, workshops and activities hourly, music, good food and free entry make this a great day! The Autumn Plant Fair is a fundraiser for the Bellingen Environment Centre and is sponsored by the Bellingen Community Markets.

Don't miss your chance to see the best of Australia's young classical musicians perform in a series of concerts around NSW as part of the
Australian Youth Orchestra's (AYO) chamber music and regional outreach program - AYO Regional Residencies.

The AYO play COFFS HARBOUR on Saturday 20 March 2010 from 8pm at the Cavanbah Hall, Harbour Drive.

AYO Regional Residencies give selected advanced instrumentalists from the Australian Youth Orchestra the opportunity to form
a chamber ensemble, and participate in a period of intensive tuition with professional musicians and educators.
Along with their tutors, the chamber ensemble then travels to a regional area to present a series of workshops and rehearsals
with musicians from the local community.

The interaction between the chamber ensemble and the regional community is a key feature of the program.
Since its inception in 1999, AYO Regional Residencies has been resident in 34 regional communities across all states and territories of Australia.
More than 1,500 young regional music students have been actively involved in this unique program.

Bacardi Express is a train that takes some of the hottest local and international music acts on a rockin’ 48 hour rail ride of a life time.
Best of all though, you have the chance to jump on board.

The Express starts in Brisbane, travels through Coffs Harbour, and finishes in Sydney.

Performers onboard include La Roux, Art Vs Science, Yves Klein Blue, Miami Horror, Cassette Kids and Sampology.

The BELLINGEN BIG BAND is a community based group of enthusiastic musicians who enjoy learning and playing together every Tuesday evening 7:00pm at the C.W.A. rooms in Bellingen. During the past decade, and under the expert leadership of Chris Frater our band has developed into a very fine large ensemble and has performed at numerous varied events throughout the region. Being able to read and play music at a moderate to high level is a prerequisite. Liking diverse Jazz, Swing, Latin, and the Big Band Sound is preferable.
